Welcome to the Washington, DC, chapter of the Contemplative Leaders in Action (CLA) program. We were the 4th city to host this 2-year program, and are currently in our 7th year of existence. In these days of smartphones, the ubiquity of information and virtual 'friends,' CLA offers a substantive and lasting companionship, faith and grace that deepens with every gathering. Given the need to have encouragement and inspiration in how we understand and integrate our faith lives into the various aspects of who we are, I have been deeply impressed with the created value established within the cohort. The collective bonds - forged through consistent acts of generosity, listening, and proven trust - explain the real success of CLA in Washington, DC. In addition to the loving community that is created over time, CLA includes speakers who are spiritual veterans who share their experience with younger adults and in doing so add to the layers of the program.
